Feelings

For me, the hardest part of being a Christian is when my feelings (my emotional response to a situation) and knowledge (knowing that a loving God is in control of everything that happens to me and I can rest in Him) become out-of-whack.  I guess that I have learned (or better stated: in the process of learning) to embrace the feelings and trust The Lord to get me through those feelings, knowing that faith is living not by feelings, but by trusting God despite the feelings.  I seriously don't know how non-Christians make it through the day, let alone situations that cause great pain.  Even Christ, while on this Earth, had feelings.  He didn't hide them or try to "control" them, He embraced them.  Before going to the cross, he prayed (so hard that his sweat turned to blood!) for God to allow him to NOT be crucified.  We know that Christ was without sin, so the feelings of NOT wanting to do God's will was not sin.  However, Christ was committed to The Father and did The Father's will despite His feelings.  Submitting to God even with our feelings of sadness and doubt and frustration and fear and loss (the list goes on), I believe, is the most honest and sincere form of worship we can truly experience on the Earth.

Exodus 14:14
"The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still."

2nd Corinthians 4:18
"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen.  For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
