First Day of School

The kids of had a lot of changes this summer!  New state, new house, new grocery store, and of course, a new school.  Monday was the first day of school the the school year and the first day of school at their new school and the first day of school period for Sunshine!

Can  you tell that they were all super-excited to take a few minutes to take their picture before school?  Actually, it was already over 100 degrees before school and they kept saying whining that it was too hot to take pictures.  Boo-hoo!  Do they remember who their mom is?  We got a few, but they were NOT happy about it.

There is ALMOST a smile here:

Not-so-much here (but still handsome):

This is fake, but at least she was trying ; )

Most upset about the heat:

Sunshine had her first day at any school!  We home-schooled for pre-school so other than church on Sundays and a handful of morning at MOPs, this is it!
She was so excited and has been asking about it for weeks, but usually gets quite reserved in new locations/situations.

I am so proud of her here:

My heart is breaking here:

And just shattered here:

But, she didn't cry or fuss AT ALL, like she usually does when she gets left anywhere, or I even leave to run to the store.  Just so brave, she was!

And, she ended up having a wonderful day and was so excited to go back the next day. . .

"See ya, Mom!"

No, MY first day with a quite house is another story!
Just to let you know, it was my FIRST day at home ALONE in over 9 years!  I missed them all terribly and yes, cried.  But, the day really went a lot faster than I had expected.  And, I was able to finish a week's worth of errands in 2 hours.  I'm already looking forward to next summer with the all home again though.

ENJOY!

Lianna says "hi" and "I love you" to Mackenzie.

I'm glad she ended up liking her first day of school.
