I've been dealing with terrible migraines almost daily since the beginning of July, so my creative juices haven't been flowing, nor have I had much of an energy level to do things, even if I wanted. But the last two weeks have been much better. Here are a few projects I've accomplished in the last couple of weeks :)
I bought a piece of plywood and had it cut the dimensions of an old frame we had and spray painted it with chalkboard paint. Sorry that there are no before pictures. I then took an old frame that we had, which was antique gold by the way, spray painted it white, then spray painted it green. Then lightly sanded all the way around to give it the beloved distressed look.
I took a 2x4 and cut it into pieces 4 inches long and spray painted them white. Then took some chip board, spray painted it black and then adorned the wood with autumnal papers and designs.
I found these little CORK pumpkins at a little boutique shop down town and thought that they were just too cute!
I redid the mantle to bring autumn into our home. The vessels with dried indian corn, "pumpkinos" and dried leaves. I also found these white ceramic gourds which are so simple, love that!
And, believe it or not, but I have been looking EVERYWHERE for frames just like these!
BEAUTIFUL, huh?
But, with a little paint and popping out those GLORIOUS prints on the inside, I got just what I wanted to cover the cords from our armoire to the outlet. We had power bar there too! And now, voila, all gone!
So, for $13 dollars at a garage sale, I was able to add some character to a corning that just wasn't right and camouflage the power bar and cords from both the light and the armoire. I chose to keep the old picture in the horizontal frame because it looked so good in that spot (it was $2) The large frame was $5 and vertical frame was $6. I tried to barter with them that if then wanted to keep the prints they could try to sell them, since I only wanted the frames. They thought that I was crazy when I tried to explain what I was doing, but I love it!

Beautiful- you are very creative!
Love those Autumn blocks! You are so creative. I made a gratitude tree yesterday with tree branches, price tags hung with twine and pinto beans in a glass vase. I'll post pics soon. Thanks for the tip on such a great tradition!
