Happy Birthday to ME!

Thursday, my sweet friend and neighbor had Sunshine and me over to lunch to celebrate my birthday. Lunch was quite delicious, the fellowship was wonderful . . . and the cupcakes. . . well, just take a look for yourself! Not only were they gorgeous, they were delicious! THANK YOU, Deanna!

Yesterday I officially celebrated my birthday . . . I'm seen about 432 full moons. . . pretty cool! Here is how I was able to celebrate the big day!

I was able to wake up to a snugglie-warm house and then meet a very precious friend at Starbuck's (where they gave me a free beverage of my choice, Venti non-fat, no-water, chai; I usually never get a Venti, but come on, it was my birthday, THANK YOU, STARBUCKS!). We chatted for about 2 hours . . . ahhhhhh (THANK YOU, EM!). . . My husband is still baffled by the fact that two women with no children in tow could talk for 2 hours. ; )

Then, I was able to get a few things done around the house and then . . . off to get my hair cut!
My hair has not been this short for 4 years. But I tend to lose a lot of hair; my darling husband was getting a little tired of finding hair (two feet long pieces of hair) all over him and the house. I really don't blame him.

So, we donated it to Locks of Love. It is quite strange to see my ponytail detached from my head . . . quite odd! There is 12+ inches!

We were going to go to one restaurant for dinner, but they were closed . . . due to snow (I just don't get it. . . only about 3 - 4 inches out there, oh well),

{here is the snow}

so we just went to the Mexican restaurant by our house . . . still yummy!

This is the snow that is leaving our city almost shut down!
Then we came home and I got to open a few lovely presents and cards and watch a movie with the family.

This morning, they got to go out and enjoy the snow (see previous picture). I say, "they," because I do not like the cold. I open the shutters and watch them from the window . . . just too cold for little old mom!

But, when they came in, I made them warm and tasty cocoa.

Tonight, we are having some friends over for a FIESTA! Yes, it is fun to have a birthday over the weekend ; )

And, thank you to everyone who called, texted, sent cards, left me messages on Facebook, sent a gift, and just showed me love in anyway. . . I appreciate you all; THANK YOU!

Oh, and to people who say, "Well, you are almost 40 now!" I LAUGH in the face of 40! HA!
