Seven Year Old Championship!

Spielberg's baseball team made it to the championship game.  They did such a great job as they were ranked 6th when the tournament began.  But, they slowly made their way through the single-elimination tournament.  After beating other teams, then then had to beat the 3rd place team and then the 2nd place team and then off to the championship game!  The game started off well, but as they were playing an undefeated team, I think they had already gotten it in their minds that they couldn't win . . . and so didn't play their best.  But, just to make it this far, was quite an accomplishment!
GO CARDS!
Incidentally, have you ever seen such a sorry group of winners?  Albeit, second place, but still they had had to beat 12 other teams into that position.  We had to get them to even look this happy during their picture :)

My niece, who is 12, plays softball. She still hates being second. They never grow out of it!

Congrats to Spielberg's team!

HA! Love the gloomy faces! Sometimes it's hard not to laugh when our kids are so upset over something that's not worth being upset about!
Great work, boys!!

I so miss these days - the long (hot) summer days sitting on the bleachers watching the little ones play ball . . .
