Chore Chart

I saw something similar to this on another blog, Not So Idle Hands, one of my favorites. Anyway, here is my "tweek" on it.

I got some lumber, 1" x 12" and several fee long, like 6.

I cut the piece in half and shared the other with a friend.

Primed it and painted the spray painted the edges black

Then green all over

Then, I used some super-strong glue to glue pieces of thin metal (see first picture) to the wood. Then, I got me some scrap book paper and printed out our kids' names on each one with "To Do" and "Done" at the top, with a line down the middle and "Extra" down at the bottom. Then, I taped them over the the pieces of metal. I taped them so that I could change them out later, if I so choose ; )
(If you would like any of the templates I made, just let me know and I'd be MORE than happy to email them to you).

BUT, I wasn't really happy with the over-all appearance, so I repainted the wood and printed out some new charts:

I used chip board covered with scrapbook paper to spell "Chores."

For the magnets, I printed out several of our chores on coordinating paper. Then, used an insane amount of hot glue to over each square and then smashed a glass tile on top until the glue spread out from each side. After which, I cut out from the paper. Then, I glued a magnet on the back . . . pretty simple.
(Again, if you'd like the template that I made, I'd be MORE than happy to email it to you).

Enjoy!!!

Have a blessed week : )

Oh, and the kids even love it!

SO cute! And so functional too. It is totally unlike any chore chart I've seen. Very, very cool.
