I once served with a MOPS team in Auburn, WA. When we moved from Texas to Tennessee, then sent me a book: The Oak Inside the Acorn. EVERY time I read it to my kids, I cry. I mean, not just sniffles, but actual tear running down my face. It is a great book. About being what God has made you to be. Anyway, when we were read it for the first time, it was interesting to see the reactions of my different children.
Braden saw that the acorn was having a hard time letting go from the oak, so he used his hand to "chop" it off.
Kelan, on the other hand, proceeded to "pick" the acorn back up and and "hang" it back on the tree. And, at only 5 Kelan said, "You are the oak, I am the acorn."
If this does not show their little emerging personalities, I am not sure what will.
Anyway, I highly recommend the book.
