i had a whole to fill beside our armoire . . .
it was driving me nuts. . .
i had this old Monet print from the Money museum in France when i backpacked in europe about 15 years ago!
The blue did not match anything in our house, but i carried the print over all of europe and the custom framing was quite pricey so i have kept it all of these years.
i had an other empty frame and a "home" vinyl decal in a chocolate color. i was going to just put the decal on the wall and call it good . . . but was then inspired.
if anything arrives at our house with pretty ribbon on it, i cannot dare ego part with it. this ribbon was off of some sheets we bought from pottery barn. i stapled it to the back of the smaller frame.
then, i added wall bumpers to the bottom
after removing the print and matting, i secured the glass back into the frame and
stuck the "home" lettering to the glass
(I used the line from the rug below to make sure it was level).
then, hung it up . . . but it needed the final touch. . .
i hung the smaller frame over the "home" on the larger frame to frame the word.
tomorrow, i think i'll go get a rosette from which to hand the ribbon of the second frame, but for now, i'm liking this.
hole filled!
now for the other side . . . ; )

This is gorgeous, Karie! If I completely understood Pinterest, I'd pin it.
