Yummy Dough

A few weeks ago I won some Yummy Dough from The Picky Palate (awesome blog with many tasty treats! She is so creative!). Okay, so I cannot remember the last time I actually won anything, so that, in itself, was exciting for me : )

However, the yummy dough was exciting for the kids!

The package contains 4 plastic bags of white powder. They also give you a syringe to add 40 ml of water. As you add the water, the color appears.

Then you stir and kneed the dough.

Until you get dough the consistency of PlayDough, it was neat the way the powder went from completely crumbly to dough-like consistency in a matter of minutes!

Four colors!

I separated each color into 1/3s and so each Little Lee got some of each color.

The make their own creatures and shapes. Then, you cook it and then they can EAT it!

Here are some of their creations:
dragon

lizzard

UFO

Socrates mixed yellow and red to make orange to make a pumpkin

And elephant

Overall, they really liked this activity. Spielberg ate one cookie, but doesn't really care for the taste. Socrates likes them, but they aren't his favorite. Sunshine never completed hers, as she couldn't think of anything to create, she just like "playing" with it.

There is hydrogenated oil in the mix, so not something we would buy often, but a special-once-in-a-while-treat. This would be a great rainy day activity! I think you and your kids would both enjoy it

Thanks, Jenny! You ROCK!
